Abstract The human visual system encodes optical information perceived by photoreceptors in the retina into neural spikes and then processes them cortex, with high efficiency low energy consumption. Inspired this processing mode, an universal artificial neuron constructed a resistor ( R s ) threshold switching memristor can realize rate coding modulating pulse parameters resistance of .
